Bio

Born 1975, Singapore. Lives and works in Tokyo.
Tan’s practice unfolds through research-through-making and site-responsive interventions. His work explores impermanence, vernacular construction, and the blurred boundaries between art and life.
Educated in art and architecture, he studied at LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore), the University of Tasmania (Australia), and the University of Western Australia. Working with found objects, provisional structures, and performative labour, Tan’s approach remains grounded in material experience.
He has exhibited internationally, including at the Singapore Biennale (2019), the Yokohama Triennale (2020), and the NUS Museum (Singapore).
